We're not making this up. According to a 2023 study by Pew Research Center study 46% of American employees don't use all their PTO. The reasons run the gamut; not wanting to get behind at work, not wanting to let coworkers down or let them carry your weight, sometimes the reason isn't even focused, it's just general guilt! Whatever your reasons for not taking time off for yourself, here are our mental healthy reasons why you SHOULD.
Taking time off will actually make you MORE productive when you go back to the office.
Spend time with the people you love. Remind yourself who you're working for.
Use PTO to develop a new hobby! It's good for the longevity of your brain, and employers love a well rounded workforce.
Take a break and see the world through fresh eyes. It might be just what you need to get through that mental block that's been holding you back at work.
