Soak Up the Sun

The start of summer often brings a positive shift in mood. As summer comes to an end and school is about to start, it's normal for some people to experience a shift in mood again.

BUT! Even though the end of summer can be challenging, there's still plenty of time to make the most of the remaining season. This is an excellent opportunity to spend time outdoors, soak up some sunshine, and re-evaluate your goals and habits to better prepare for the upcoming seasons that may impact mental health.

If you have family members getting ready to head back to school in a few weeks, now is the time to take those overdue vacation days, hit the trails, and make some memories. Make time with loved ones a priority and create a solid plan to spend time together before the new school year starts.

Consider reevaluating your habits and goals. If you're struggling to become an early riser, now is the perfect time to adjust your schedule. As the mornings get darker, it will be harder to get out of bed. By forming the habit of waking up earlier while there is still plenty of morning light, you will feel refreshed and motivated, making it easier to establish this new routine.

Even if you're not in school, you can still think of the upcoming school season as a fresh start for your goals. Take a look at your resolution list from the new year. Celebrate what you've already accomplished, consider removing what was unrealistic, and start fresh.

Make the most out of the rest of your long summer days, and your brain will feel better for it!
